    Heya guys!

I thought I’d give people a run-down of our new forum here in this post so people can have an idea of how to signin and post in the forum. I’ll be adding more to this post as time passes. I just wanted to start getting something up here for now.

First off the forum is super-easy to register and/or login to. You can signin with your social media account by clicking one of the signin buttons on the right sidebar. You’ll go to the respective login provider’s website to login and then you’ll be redirected back to FinalCutProX.net and signed in to our website. You can also register and signin with a newly-created account on our website if you don’t want to signin with your social media account.

After you’ve signed in posting on the forum is really easy. Just go to one of the forums you want to post in. For instance for this topic I am posting right now I went to the Form -> Feedback forum.

When you go to a forum there will be a list of topics and at the bottom when you’re logged in you will see a form to post a new topic. The form is really straight forward. There’s a place to enter the title of the topic you want to post and then there’s an area to write your post. After that there’s an area where you can enter comma separated tag words into your post. For instance if you wanted to tag your post with the tag word FCPX 10.1 then you could enter that tag word into the “Topic Tags” field to add tags to your topic post. There’s also a checkbox you can check to get notifications via email of any follow-up replies. Then you click the submit button to submit your post.

There’s also buttons in the post form that allow you to enter formatting to your post. For instance you can select some words in your post and then click the b button in the post toolbar to make the selected text format as bold text.

The forum is supposed to automatically embed youtube videos if you just paste the video URL into the forum post. I’ll do a little test of that right now:

Yep… it works. Just paste a YouTube URL to have the YouTube video be embedded in the forum post.

One more thing about posting on the forum. You can edit your post up to 15mins. after it’s been submitted.

Now let me talk about your profile.

Your profile URL will be http://finalcutprox.net/users/YOUR-USERNAME

When you’re logged in then an edit profile button will appear in the top-right of the sidebar. From the profile edit page you can enter a bio and change how your name is displayed in the forum. You can also upload a profile avatar from the edit profile page.

There’s also other links in your profile page where you can view forum topics you marked as favorite. You can also see Topics you’ve started, Replies you’ve created, and your Subscriptions.

I am welcoming any type of posts in the forum. If you have anything you feel like posting please feel free to go ahead and post. I will most likely reply to any posts made in the forum so you if you post at least you know you’ll get a reply. Anyway thanks for looking and I hope to see some of your posts soon!

    Nice post!

Now I’m logged in via Twitter and replying to the post. I tried to setup the site so that it would display a user’s social media profile pic but then it broke the ability for users to upload a custom pic on this website so I decided to just let everyone upload their own profile pics here.

I’ll just go to my twitter profile and get the pic and upload it here. I just clicked on my username of this post to visit my profile page and since I’m logged in there’s an edit link on my profile page where I can edit my profile and upload a profile pic.
