Motion is not a true 3D program in that it can not create 3D objects. Motion is only capable of moving 2D objects through 3D space. Because of this we have to use a little creativity to make a “3D” video box that rotates.
Basically you create 6 video layers and place them in 3D space to construct a 3D box. Then place all the layers into a group and rotate the group. You can add some lights, motion blur, and keyframe out the opacity of the sides of the box as it rotates to eliminate the banding that may occur between the pixels where the box edges meet.
